What to do with 2 - 4 years old computer running slow ? Time and again we encounter this question at our shop. First thing we do is run a small diagnostic in their presence and try to check the SMART status of the hard drive. 80% of the time we will see many attributes which are way over then normal values. To name a few, Read Errors, Write Errors, Load Unload Cycle Counts, Write Errors, Command Time Out etc. Bottom Line is these factors bring down the hard Drive Read/Write performance substantially making whole computer use very slow.
